Discover the first national park born in Europe. Experience the best views along the spectacular walking trails in Gran Paradiso. A home for alpine wildlife. You will surely see ibexes, chamois, marmots and maybe the impressive bearded vulture...
Walking through idyllic alpine meadow, larch forests and beautiful lakes. In the evening you will enjoy the warm hospitality of the italian huts.
Transfer to the village of Ste Foy, where we start our the Gran Paradiso hike. Climb to the refuge Archeboc passing through the village of Miroir. We are in la Vanoise national Park.
We leave Vanoise and enter Gran Paradiso through Col du Mont(2636 m), border with Italy.
A stunning traverse under the Grande Rousse. Facing you, the Platte des Chamois, and the Grande Sassière (3747 m). The beautiful valley of Bezzi huts welcomes us.
We leave Valgrisenche heading to Val de Rhêmes through Col Bassac Dere. A beautiful view of Grande Sassière and a chance to see marmots, ptarmigans and ibexes.
Ascent to col Rosset. Magnificent view on the summit of Gran Paradiso, then descent by the beautiful lakes of Leita and Rosset. In the evening you have to try the “grill”, the friendly cup!
Descent through Val du Petit Nivolet. In front of us dominate the Gran Paradiso, Ciarofon and Tresenta. We are in Valsavarenche. Climb up to Victor Emmanuel II refuge.
We take a trail traversing to Chabot refuge, then descent on the Pravieux Alp. This will be the last opportunity to observe chamois, ibexes and marmots. Or why not climbing the summit of Gran Paradiso?
