The Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are renowned for their dramatic scenery, towering peaks, and unique landscapes. This trek takes you through valleys, iconic summits like Monte Cristallo and Tre Cime di Lavaredo, and expansive plateaus, blending history, nature, and culture.
Explore high-altitude routes, cozy alpine refuges, and historical sites like the Great War tunnels carved into the rock. This journey offers an unforgettable adventure for mountain lovers, combining spectacular landscapes with rich history.
Our trek begins in the iconic Dolomite town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, at the foot of Monte Cristallo. We start our ascent toward the famous filming location of Dino Buzzati's "The Desert of the Tartars." The Tofane group slowly reveals itself, offering a preview of the Dolomites' majestic beauty.
We descend through the wild and spectacular Val Travenanzes, then climb into the Val de Fanes, a lunar-like territory beneath the walls of the Kreuzkofel. These unique and contrasting landscapes immerse you in the unparalleled atmosphere of the region.
Explore the Fanes Nature Park, a natural gem in the Dolomites with its impressive geological formations. The iconic mountains of Croda Rossa and Sorapis dominate the landscape, offering an immersive experience in the wild and untouched nature of this legendary valley.
We advance through the enchanting Eastern Dolomites, passing through Walshe Platz and the Rosalmhütte Pass, with the imposing Rotwand and Croda Rossa looming above. Majestic panoramas accompany us throughout this unforgettable day.
We ascend the Dolomites' high route 3, passing a col under Strudelkopf, with a stunning view of Lake Dürrensee. This stage borders the former Austro-Italian front line. The climb to the legendary Drei Zinnen Refuge, facing the Tre Cime, is a highlight of the adventure.
We tour the famous Tre Cime and Torre di Toblin under the watchful eye of Paterno. We also explore the tunnels of the Great War, carved directly into the rock. This route is a blend of nature and history, where grand landscapes meet hidden underground remnants.
Our final day takes us back to Cortina along the Bonacossa Trail, which passes through the spectacular Cadini di Misurina landscapes. This trail, named in honor of Aldo Bonacossa, offers a perfect conclusion to this unforgettable trek in the Dolomites.
